Here we are! Part 2 of My Votes for Crunchyroll’s Anime Awards 2022. When I wrote this one, it was technically the last day of voting and I almost forgot to share the other half of my picks. So here we go!
Best Character Design
Saki Takahashi – Wonder Egg Priority

I gave this vote to the series because it was actually the reason why I wanted to watch the show in the first place. The show has this “softness” to it and I think Wonder Egg Priority’s character design really stood out from all the series that were airing the past year. So this gets my vote.
Best Score
Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina – Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc

Anything with Yuki Kajiura in it, I take it in immediately. Although I wasn’t super hyped on the series as I shared previously, Demon Slayer had the best music score. So yeah, this gets my vote here.
Best VA Performance – Japanese
Ayane Sakura – Gabi Braun (Attack on Titan)

I have heard soooo much hate over Gabi in the AoT anime, but I got to admit that this is the reason why Ayane Sakura gets my vote. She did pretty well doing Gabi. People hate the character, yes, but I love the voice.
Best VA Performance – English
Laura Bailey – Tohru Honda

I am not really into English dubs that much but Laura Bailey’s take on Tohru is something that I really like a lot. Even from the first anime series until the latest series, she still nails the voice of our best girl Tohru each and every time.
Best Opening Sequence
Kaibutsu – YOASOBI (BEASTARS)

One of the reasons why I decided to watch BEASTARS was because of this opening sequence. Also, this was performed by YAOSOBI so it was worth checking out. So this gets my vote for the best opening sequence. For the record, I am not really into the furry genre but BEASTARS is an exception to that. It’s a pretty good show.
Best Ending Sequence
Shirogane – LiSA

I think I don’t need to explain why this gets my vote. Demon Slayer and LiSA go well together.
Best Action
Jujutsu Kaisen

I think I don’t need to explain much why Jujutsu Kaisen hit all the right marks when it comes to animation, action, and other aspects. I’m putting my vote for Best Action to the series because, yeah. Guys, the last few episodes are enough to convince you that it deserves this spot.
Best Comedy
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S

I seriously miss this series! This is one of KyoAni’s comeback anime and S was really fun. So it deserves my vote for this category!
Best Drama
To Your Eternity

Before Ranking of Kings came along, there was this anime. This anime was an emotional ride, really. If you haven’t watched this yet and you plan to do so soon, just prepare your heart. But anyway, this anime deserves my vote for this category.
Best Romance
Horimiya

When it comes to romance anime that aired in the previous seasons, it was only Horimiya that really stood out from all of them. If ever there was a second vote, I would give it to The Duke of Death and his Maid. They are equally good for me, especially in the romance category that is.
Best Fantasy
Ranking of Kings

Bojji deserves this, Kage deserves this. This series brings a different kind of magic when it comes to fantasy anime is concerned so I’m giving my vote to Ranking of Kings.
Best Film
BELLE

My best friend had been pestering me to watch BELLE since last year and it was only very recently that I got to finally watch it. Oh man, this movie was beautiful. So beautiful and there is nothing else like it. One of Mamoru Hosoda’s best indeed. I will riot if this doesn’t win in this category.
So there you have it! I look forward to the winners of this year’s Anime Awards. Winners will be announced on February 9!
