Leading Philippine cosplay organizer returns one of its primary events for 2022.
Philippine cosplay convention organizer Cosplay.ph announced on Wednesday on the Cosplay Mania official Facebook page that Cosplay Carnival will be making a return this year. The date and venue have not been announced yet as of press time.
Before the pandemic, the convention is part of the “Cosplay Mania Event Series,” which comprises four regular events happening throughout the year: Cosplay Carnival, Anime & Cosplay Expo, Cosplay Mania, and Cosplay Matsuri.
Cosplay Carnival, which was supposedly part of the organizers’ highly-anticipated “Isekai Adventure” series for 2020, was canceled due to COVID-19. Cosplay.ph continued to provide online events for Filipino fans, such as FanFes Online (which its 2021 edition had special guests PH Virtual YouTubers Lyrica and Kaheru) and online auction events.
Cosplay.ph held Cosplay Mini Matsuri on December 28-30 2021 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City. This was their first physical event since its cancellation of events in 2020.
